This room, though it belongs now to the second cottage, seems to have been converted out of the back bedroom of the first. It is unpleasantly pink, plaster-strewn and largely uninteresting, so we leave it and walk into a bedroom in which a toppled wardrobe is reclining on a blue sheeted bed. These rooms are lighter and airier than the ones we just left, but still damp. Another door leads onto a small landing, on the right are some stairs, while ahead is an uncomfortably damp bedroom with a well secured board covering the curtained window. Two beds and a second reclining wardrobe make up the furniture, on the wall there is a fireplace and a large cupboard in the corner containing coathangers. <br><br> <center> <img alt="Bath." src="http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y112/Derelict_horsham/stamm/th_s32.jpg" border=1> <img alt="Toilet." src="http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y112/Derelict_horsham/stamm/th_avoctoil.jpg" border=1> <a href="#" onClick="window.open('http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y112/Derelict_horsham/stamm/s30.jpg','', 'width=640,height=480,scrollbars=no,resizable=no,status=no,toolbar=no,menubar=no');return false;"> <img alt="Front Bedroom." src="http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y112/Derelict_horsham/stamm/th_s30.jpg" border=1></a> <img alt="Front Bedroom." src="http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y112/Derelict_horsham/stamm/th_1DSCN4668.jpg" border=1> <a href="#" onClick="window.open('http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y112/Derelict_horsham/stamm/s18.jpg','', 'width=640,height=480,scrollbars=no,resizable=no,status=no,toolbar=no,menubar=no');return false;"> <img alt="Living Room." src="http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y112/Derelict_horsham/stamm/th_s18.jpg" border=1></a> <img src="http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y112/Derelict_horsham/stamm/th_sta4-1.jpg" border="1" alt="A touch tone 'phone covered in mortar from the bricked up windows" /> <br>Left to right: Bathroom details, Front Bedroom, Front bedroom fireplace and window, The parlour and roof tiles, A 'phone covered in mortar from the bricked up window.<br> <BR> <a href="#" onClick="window.open('http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y112/Derelict_horsham/stamm/s22.jpg','', 'width=640,height=480,scrollbars=no,resizable=no,status=no,toolbar=no,menubar=no');return false;"> <img alt="Dining Room." src="http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y112/Derelict_horsham/stamm/th_s22.jpg" border=1></a> <a href="#" onClick="window.open('http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y112/Derelict_horsham/stamm/s23.jpg','', 'width=640,height=480,scrollbars=no,resizable=no,status=no,toolbar=no,menubar=no');return false;"> <img alt="Rayburn Stove." src="http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y112/Derelict_horsham/stamm/th_s23.jpg" border=1></a> <img alt="Not quite.." src="http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y112/Derelict_horsham/stamm/th_s24.jpg" border=1> <img alt="Dial." src="http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y112/Derelict_horsham/stamm/th_s25.jpg" border=1> <img alt="A pot for a fruit fool, perhaps?" src="http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y112/Derelict_horsham/stamm/th_s21.jpg" border=1> <img alt="Cooker." src="http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y112/Derelict_horsham/stamm/th_cook.jpg" border=1> <br>Left to right: Dining room fireplace, The main kitchen, Oven temperature dial, Not quite the end, Fruit Fool?, Back kitchen.<br><br> <img alt="Cellar stair" src="http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y112/Derelict_horsham/stamm/th_s19.jpg" border=1> <img alt="Cellar" src="http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y112/Derelict_horsham/stamm/th_s20.jpg" border=1> <a href="#" onClick="window.open('http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y112/Derelict_horsham/stamm/s35.jpg','', 'width=640,height=480,scrollbars=no,resizable=no,status=no,toolbar=no,menubar=no');return false;"> <img src="http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y112/Derelict_horsham/stamm/th_s35.jpg" border="1" alt="Back towards the cottages" /></a> <a href="#" onClick="window.open('http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y112/Derelict_horsham/stamm/s34.jpg','', 'width=640,height=480,scrollbars=no,resizable=no,status=no,toolbar=no,menubar=no');return false;"> <img src="http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y112/Derelict_horsham/stamm/th_s34.jpg" border="1" alt="The shed" /></a> <img src="http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y112/Derelict_horsham/stamm/th_s41.jpg" border="1" alt="." /></a> <a href="#" onClick="window.open('http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y112/Derelict_horsham/stamm/s36.jpg','', 'width=640,height=480,scrollbars=no,resizable=no,status=no,toolbar=no,menubar=no');return false;"> <img src="http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y112/Derelict_horsham/stamm/th_s36.jpg" border="1" alt="Coal Store" /></a> <br>Left to right: Cellar, Looking back towards the Cottages, The shed, Portable record player, The coal store.<br><br> </center> </center>Climbing down the stairs, we decend into almost total darkness. The torchlight reveals a parlour whose floor is covered with polystyrene tiles come unstuck from the ceiling. A chair stands in the corner and Something illegible is scrawled on a mirror on a tableagainst one wall. We exit this room and enter an empty dining room and then a kitchen with a rusting Rayburn stove and a bank of shelving along one wall. A blocked door looks like it once led to the extension. Having hit a dead end, we double back on ourselves, descending into the dank cellar then hauling ourselves up out of the hatch in front of the house.<br> <br><center> <a href="#" onClick="window.open('http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y112/Derelict_horsham/stamm/Picture182.jpg','', 'width=640,height=480,scrollbars=no,resizable=no,status=no,toolbar=no,menubar=no');return false;"> <img src="http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y112/Derelict_horsham/stamm/th_Picture182.jpg" border="1" alt="Midden beside the shed" /></a> <img src="http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y112/Derelict_horsham/stamm/th_s47.jpg" border="1" alt="Flowerpot" /> <a href="#" onClick="window.open('http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y112/Derelict_horsham/stamm/s48.jpg','', 'width=640,height=480,scrollbars=no,resizable=no,status=no,toolbar=no,menubar=no');return false;"> <img src="http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y112/Derelict_horsham/stamm/th_s48.jpg" border="1" alt="Some sort of portable stove in a midden at the end of the garden " ></a> <a href="#" onClick="window.open('http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y112/Derelict_horsham/stamm/Picture195.jpg','', 'width=640,height=480,scrollbars=no,resizable=no,status=no,toolbar=no,menubar=no');return false;"> <img src="http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y112/Derelict_horsham/stamm/th_Picture195.jpg" border="1" alt="Broken toilet" /></a> <img src="http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y112/Derelict_horsham/stamm/th_s43.jpg" border="1" alt="The potting shed" /> <a href="#" onClick="window.open('http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y112/Derelict_horsham/stamm/s44.jpg','', 'width=640,height=480,scrollbars=no,resizable=no,status=no,toolbar=no,menubar=no');return false;"> <img src="http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y112/Derelict_horsham/stamm/th_s44.jpg" border="1" alt="Magazines" /></a> <br>Left to right: Midden beside the shed, Detail of a plastic flower pot, Some sort of portable stove, The remains of an antique toilet, Potting shed, women's magazine from 1965.<br><br> Close to the cottages is Lower Barn, deserted by all but the occasional herd of moping cows and filled with all manner of domestic and agricultural paraphenalia such as mole traps, air rifle pellets, tea chests and carding combs.
